An Independent Local Locksmith, Not a Call Centre

Open-in Security Services is a small, independent, owner-run locksmith based on Long Lane in Ickenham. When you call, you speak to Kenny, the locksmith who turns up, not a national booking desk that takes your details, resells the job to whoever is nearest, and leaves the price to be settled on your doorstep.

We've worked the same 25-mile patch since 2006, mostly on word of mouth and repeat custom: lockouts, lock upgrades, uPVC door repairs and commercial work across West London, Hertfordshire and South Buckinghamshire.

Who You'll Meet

Kenny, Owner and locksmith

Kenny started Open-in Security Services in 2006 and still does every job personally: the phone call, the drive, the door. He is DBS-checked, and because there is nobody else on the books, the person who quoted you is the person kneeling at your lock. If a review on Google thanks "Kenny" or "Ken", that is him.

Twenty years of the same doors in the same towns builds a particular kind of knowledge: which uPVC gearboxes fail on which estates, which period doors take a Bramah and which need a BS3621 mortice, and which insurers ask for what. That is the experience behind every price given on the phone.

Want to check? The address, the phone number and 69 reviews are all on the Google Business Profile (opens in new tab), and the number there matches the one on this page: 07904 594452.

How We Work

The Same Four Promises, Every Job

DBS-checked

The same named engineer turns up on every job, never a resold call.

Fixed price by phone

Agreed before dispatch, not renegotiated at your door.

Non-destructive first

95% of doors opened without damage: picking before drilling.

£0 call-out fee

You pay for the work, not the journey. Established 2006.

Picking Before Drilling

The craft of the job is getting a door open without wrecking it. Of the lockouts Kenny attends, roughly 95% end with the lock picked, decoded or manipulated open and still doing its job, so you keep what you already own and pay for the entry alone. The drill comes out of the bag only when a mechanism has failed inside the door or was built to defeat picking, and never without saying so first.

That same care runs through the upgrade work: heritage-matched hardware on period doors, insurance-grade BS3621 and anti-snap cylinders where they belong, and honest advice about what a door actually needs rather than the most expensive thing we could sell you.

What Is in the Van

Most jobs finish in one visit because the van is stocked for them: pick sets and decoders for rim, mortice and euro locks; cylinders from Ultion, Mul-T-Lock, Yale, ERA; kitemarked BS3621 five-lever deadlocks; multipoint gearboxes, keeps and handles from Yale, ERA, Winkhaus, Fullex; and key blanks, including the restricted profiles that are cut to the card. If a lock has to be replaced at midnight, it is replaced at midnight, not boarded over until the shops open.

Before You Open the Door

How to Check It Is Us

Three things should match: the number you rang (07904 594452), the number on the Google Business Profile, and the number on the invoice. The address on all three is 87A Long Lane, Ickenham UB10 8QS. If they do not line up, you are not dealing with us. After a lockout, Kenny will ask you for photo ID or something inside that ties you to the address; that is a sign of a genuine locksmith, not an insult, and it is written into the terms.

Lines We Do Not Cross

What We Will Not Do

  • Reach for the drill before the picks, or without telling you.
  • Quote one figure on the phone and a different one on the step.
  • Sell a three-star cylinder to a door whose only problem is a keep that needs moving.
  • Pass your job to someone you have never spoken to.
