Flats First: Communal Doors and the Doors Behind Them

Burnt Oak and the Interwar Semis: Gearboxes, Not Cylinders

Around Burnt Oak and across the interwar streets the doors have largely moved to uPVC or composite, and the recurring fault is the multipoint mechanism. The handle has to be lifted with force, the hooks only catch when the door is pulled hard, or the door has sagged far enough that the key refuses to turn. Flat door, communal door, shop or semi: a lockout in HA8 is picked open, not drilled, in roughly 95% of cases, and the lock goes on working afterwards. How a Visit Runs

1. You ring 07904 594452 and describe the door, the lock and the problem. If you are locked out, say so and the job is treated as an emergency.
2. Kenny gives a fixed price on the call. That is the figure on the invoice, with no call-out fee added.
3. He leaves Ickenham and is usually in Edgware within 30 to 60 minutes, at any hour.
4. The lock is opened, repaired or replaced from the stock on the van, and the door is left working and secure.
