Fire Doors Done Properly

The doors had to open instantly from inside in an emergency and still let staff in from the yard without being propped open, which is the standard conflict on a fire exit. Iver Heath and the Newer Estates: Gearboxes and Cylinders

Across Iver Heath and the postwar and newer housing the doors are uPVC or composite on a multipoint strip, and two things go wrong. The older houses around the village centre keep timber doors with rim and mortice locks that owners want to keep looking as they are. Worn cases are serviced or replaced like for like, a BS3621 deadlock goes into the edge of the door where the policy demands it, and anything visible is matched to the age of the door. If a property is listed, anything that would change the appearance of the door is flagged before it is proposed.
